On January 28, 2023, the Middle Township Police Major Crimes Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Cape May County SWAT Team executed two (2) court authorized search warrants, at a residence located on the 100 block of Maryland Avenue and a room at the Simpson’s Motel in the Rio Grande section of the township. The search warrants were the result of an investigation by the Middle Township Major Crimes Unit.  Abdul Spaulding, age 45, of Rio Grande, was arrested and charged with two (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children, two (2) counts of Distribution of CDS, one (1) count of Possession of CDS, one (1) count of Certain Person not to have weapons and one (1) count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  Spaulding was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.   

All charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless he is proven guilty.
