Wilmington Police arrest man on gun charge following traffic stop: 
Wilmington Police have arrested a man on a gun charge following a traffic stop.
On January 30 at approximately 11:53 p.m., officers on patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 400 block of West 8th Street. Police made contact with the driver, 36-year-old Joseph Griffy, and recovered a 9mm handgun and ammunition.
Griffy was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon in addition to a motor vehicle violation.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,500 cash-only bail.
