Pursuit Leads to Gun Arrest by Pomona PD Special Investigations Unit

SUSPECT: Eric Flynn, 20-Year-Old Pomona Resident
UNIT: Special Investigations Unit - Investigative Services Division
NARRATIVE:
On 01-31-2023, members of the Pomona Police Department Special Investigations Unit (SIU) were engaged in crime suppression patrols along the East Holt Avenue Corridor. At 10:50 AM, SIU officers observed a vehicle in violation of several vehicle codes. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop however, the vehicle did not yield and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle recklessly attempted to evade officers within residential neighborhoods. Eventually, the vehicle yielded within the 600 block of Karesh Avenue. The sole occupant and driver of the vehicle, Suspect Flynn, was contacted and detained pending further investigation. During the investigation, it was discovered Suspect Flynn was in possession of a loaded firearm, which had no record of registration.
Suspect Flynn was subsequently arrested and booked at the Pomona City Jail.
The Special Investigations Unit has been tasked with addressing the criminal activity to include various Quality of Life concerns along the East Holt Corridor and within its surrounding neighborhoods.
