Warming Shelter Information

Local Warming Shelters

Please visit our website at pflugervilletx.gov for an updated list of warming shelters.

Austin-Travis County

On Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the following shelters will be available:
  • Little Walnut Creek Branch Library, 835 W. Rundberg Lane, Austin
  • Terrazas Branch Library, 1105 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin
  • Turner Roberts, 7201 Colony Loop Drive, Austin
  • Austin Recreation Center, 1301 Shoal Creek, Austin
Anyone needing shelter can call 512-305-4233 for more information. Pets are not allowed in shelters, but shelter staff will contact Animal Services to provide care for the pet if a person arrives at a shelter with one. Anyone in need of overnight shelter can go to the One Texas Center located at 505 Barton Springs Road for registration between 6 and 8 p.m.

Williamson County

For those who have been without heat for an extended period of time due to power outages. While open 24 hours, the centers are not set up for extended or overnight stays. The centers are designed for temporary warming and power recharges but are also at risk to power loss or other service interruptions. The locations are:
  • Hill Country Bible Church Lakeline, 3300 Little Elm Trail, Cedar Park (pets welcome in crates)
  • Round Rock Baca Center, 301 W. Bagdad Ave., Ste. 2, Round Rock (no pets allowed)
  • Georgetown Recreation Center, 1003 N. Austin Ave., Georgetown (pets welcome in crates)
  • Leander High School, 3301 S. Bagdad Road, Leander (pets welcome in crates)
