Update: Double Homicide Suspect Identified & Criminal Complaints Filed; Richard Sotka, II, 48, Green Bay

Richard Sotka, II, 48, Green Bay, a double homicide suspect, will be awaiting an extradition hearing in Arkansas as the Brown County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges.

Sotka is currently being held at the Mississippi County Detention Center in Arkansas. He is suspected in causing the death of a 58-year-old Green Bay woman, who he claims to have been living with in the 1600 block of Elkay Lane as well as the death of a 53-year-old Bellevue woman, who was reportedly visiting the residence. The identities of the victims remain withheld at this time.

The Brown County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint with the following charges on February 1, 2023:

  • First-Degree Intentional Homicide
    • Use of a Dangerous Weapon
    • Domestic Abuse Assessments
  • First-Degree Intentional Homicide
    • Use of a Dangerous Weapon
  • Bail Jumping - Felony

The Brown County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint with the following charges on January 30, 2023:
  • Criminal Damage to Property
  • Bail Jumping - Felony
  • Bail Jumping - Misdemeanor - Two Counts

Sotka, was arrested by law enforcement in Mississippi County, Arkansas on Sunday, January 29, 2023, during a traffic stop, which took place a few hours after Green Bay Police were dispatched to the victim’s duplex on the City’s east side, where officers found evidence of two suspicious deaths.

We would like to recognize the Arkansas State Police and the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the case.
The investigation is ongoing. No additional information will be released at this time.
