Narrative: | |||
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is proud to be celebrating our 150th year of service. To celebrate this historic event, deputies with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office have been given the opportunity to wear a special badge to honor the department’s service. From now, February 2023, until the end of the calendar year, deputies can wear a commemorative “150 Years of Service” badge to honor the department’s anniversary. The “150 Years of Service” badge pays homage to the department’s very first badge worn by deputies in 1873. To honor this history, the “150 Years of Service” badge has a silver deputy star, exactly how the first badges were in 1873. Mounted around this historic badge is a green circular banner. On this banner states “150 Years of Service” and the years 1873-2023. The commemorative badge program is strictly voluntary and participating deputies incur the cost of production for each badge. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the County of Ventura for supporting our agency for 150 years. Members of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office are committed to safeguard the lives and property of residents of Ventura County and respond to public concerns in a manner which is fair, unbiased, lawful and promotes neighborhoods free from crime. Serve with integrity, protect with honor. |
