City provides options, waives fees for homeowners to discard tree limbs/brush from winter storm
Our community was impacted significantly by the recent winter storm, and many homeowners experienced damage to trees and brush due to heavy ice accumulation. The City of Pflugerville understands the inconvenience the storm has caused and stands ready to help homeowners address this issue. Therefore, the City is providing the following options to help city and extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ) homeowners to dispose of tree limbs and brush debris caused by the recent winter storm as quickly and easily as possible and free of charge:
- Curbside pick-up: City and ETJ homeowners who are Waste Connection customers can place tree limb/brush debris curbside for pick up by Waste Connections during the weeks of Feb. 6 and Feb. 13. This curbside pick-up is free to Waste Connection customers, and will closely follow customers’ scheduled trash pick-up days, so there’s no need to schedule separate tree limb/brush pick-ups.
- Drop-off: From Feb. 6 through Feb. 20, City and ETJ homeowners who want to dispose of their tree limb/brush debris before their scheduled trash pick-up day may do so from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. at the following locations - Pflugerville Recycle Center (15500 Sun Light Near Way); Pfennig Park (1301 West Pfennig Lane), and 103 W. Railroad Ave. The City is temporarily waiving fees and volume rules, and residents won’t be charged for more than two cubic yards.
Note: City and ETJ homeowners who need to dispose of their tree limb/brush debris sooner may do so by visiting the Recycle Center on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and all fees will be waived on those dates.
