INCIDENT: Major Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: SR-62 (Twentynine Palms Highway) / Adobe Road, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S):
VICTIM(S): 49-year-old Male Resident of Twentynine Palms
SUMMARY: On Thursday, February 2, 2023, at about 7:19 A.M., deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Station - City of Twentynine Palms, responded to the area of SR-62 and Adobe Road for a traffic collision involving a subject in a wheelchair that was struck by a vehicle.
Deputies discovered a maroon Dodge Journey traveling east on SR-62, made a right turn onto Adobe Road, and struck the subject in a wheelchair within a marked crosswalk. The subject in the wheelchair was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center via ambulance, with major, but non-life threatening injuries. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
