Cold Weather Safety Tips
When you are outdoors there is a risk of frostbite and hypothermia. Protect yourself by wearing the proper clothing.

• Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight and warm clothing.
• Wear a hat in order to prevent your body from losing heat.
• Keep your mouth covered in order to protect your lungs from the extreme cold.
• Wear insulated footwear.

• Let hot & cold water drip at night from a faucet.
• Be sure to open cabinet doors to allow heat to circulate around un-insulated pipes under a sink or near an outside wall.
• Keep thermostats settings no lower than 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
• If you plan to be away, have someone check your house daily to make sure the heat is working.
• Never use your oven or stove to heat your home.

• Keep your pets indoors.
