NARRATIVE:

On 02/03/2023, members of the Pomona Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) were conducting high visibility crime suppression in the east Holt Corridor. At 0830 hours, a vehicle stop was conducted on a vehicle for vehicle code violations. The driver (Daniel Navarro) admitted that he had narcotics on his person. After locating the narcotics, a search of the vehicle yielded a loaded and un-registered firearm. Navarro is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms. Navarro was booked at the Pomona City Jail for various firearm charges.

UNIT:

The Pomona Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is a specialized unit that typically works in a plain clothes capacity.  The SIU is responsible conducting fugitive apprehension and crime suppression.
