INDIANAPOLIS-On February 2, 2023, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Downtown district Violent Crime Task Force (VCTF) arrested 28-year-old Donnie Fisher following an investigation in which four guns (two of which were stolen), a Glock switch, narcotics and, additional stolen property from a robbery was recovered.

Just before 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2023, IMPD Robbery Detectives were investigating a robbery of a person in the 1200 block of S. Harding St. where shots had been fired and a cell phone had been stolen.  The suspects had fled in a vehicle.

Approximately an hour later, Eskenazi Police engaged in a short pursuit involving a vehicle which matched the description from 1200 S. Harding St.  As officers pursued the vehicle, the driver threw two firearms from the vehicle.  Officers terminated the pursuit and the firearms were recovered.  One of the firearms was described as a Glock handgun, with a Glock switch, large extended magazine and was reported as stolen.

IMPD Downtown district VCTF continued the investigation.  On February 2, 2023, officers located the vehicle from the pursuit parked in the rear of 3439 N. Ralston Ave.   Detectives sought the assistance of the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF).  Working together, they were able to apprehend and detain the occupant in the vehicle, identified as Donnie Fisher.

Subsequently, detectives were granted a search warrant for the vehicle along with the residence.  Detectives recovered two handguns (one of which was stolen), four cell phones, four grams of suspected pressed fentanyl pills and approximately twenty grams of marijuana.  One of the cell phones recovered was stolen during the robbery at 1200 S. Harding St.

Detectives arrested Donnie Fisher for possession of a handgun by a felon, possession of a machine gun, and resisting law enforcement. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) will review the case and make a final charging decision.
