JPD Thanks Detective Steven Williams for 29 Years of Service
On Friday February 3, 2023, Detective Steven Williams retired from the Janesville Police Department (JPD) after 29 years of service to the City of Janesville.
Detective Williams joined the JPD as a Patrol Officer on January 24, 1994. Throughout his time with the department, he held many positions and assignments, including first, second and third shift Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Less Lethal Munitions Instructor, SWAT Member, and Detective; and he was a member of the General Order, Commendation, Safety and City Health Insurance Committees.
Detective Williams received the Meritorious Service Citation in 1998 and the Police Officer of Year award in 1998.
The Police Department would like to thank Detective Steven Williams for 29 years of dedicated service to his community, the Janesville Police Department, and the City of Janesville.
