Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
 
On February 2 at approximately 7:35 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force and Street Crimes Unit were conducting an investigation in the 800 block of North Church Street. Police made contact with 21-year-old Shamar Wright, and recovered a loaded .22-caliber handgun and 79.1 grams of marijuana. Wright attempted to flee but was taken into custody without incident.
 
Wright was charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (Two Counts)
• Possession of Marijuana
• Resisting Arrest
