Wilmington Police arrest Newark woman on DUI charges following collision involving police vehicle:
Wilmington Police have arrested a Newark woman on DUI charges following a collision involving a police vehicle.
On February 4 at approximately 12:25 a.m., a police vehicle was legally parked in the 600 block of South Bancroft Parkway when it was struck by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Two police officers sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
The driver and sole occupant of the striking vehicle, 29-year-old Keyonna Hinman of Newark, remained at the scene and was uninjured.
Following an investigation by the Traffic Unit, Hinman was charged with the following offenses:
- Vehicular Assault (Second Degree) – Two Counts
- Driving While Suspended or Revoked
- Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence
- Failure to Have Required Insurance
- Operation of an Unregistered Motor Vehicle
