INCIDENT: CVC 23153(a) Driving Under the Influence Accident With Injuries
LOCATION: Twentynine Palms Highway (SR 62) and Hanford Avenue, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Issac Jimenez,41-year-old resident of El Centro, California
VICTIM(S): Jeremy Lindbald, 26-year-old resident of Yucca Valley
Gillian Dixon, 23-year-old resident of Yucca Valley
SUMMARY: On Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 3:29 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to the intersection of Palomar Avenue and Yucca Trail, in the Town of Yucca Valley, for an unknown injury traffic collision.
Deputies arrived at the location and found a silver Honda CRV, driven by Isaac Jimenez, and a silver Kia Rio, driven by Jeremy Lindbald, damaged and disabled in the intersection.
During the investigation, it was discovered Lindbald was driving norhtbound on Palomar Avenue and had a green light, when Jimenez turned against a red turn arrow onto Yucca Trail. Lindbald collided with Jimenez at about 45 mph, causing major damage to both vehicles and nearly hitting the turn signal on the northeast corner of the intersection. Jimenez appeared to be under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision and the investigation is ongoing.
As a result of the collision, Lindbald and his passenger, Gillian Dixon, were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for minor injuries and complaints of pain. Jimenez was transported to the High Desert Medical Center for chest pain and possible broken ribs.
