Wilmington Police arrest man in connection with multiple burglary, theft incidents:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with multiple burglary and theft incidents following an investigation.
Police received reports of multiple burglary and theft incidents in the Union Park Gardens area dating back to December. The cases were assigned to Detectives Michael Hayman, Brendan Wham and Brendan Shea of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of their investigation, detectives identified 22-year-old Deante Caldwell as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On February 7, members of the Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant in the 100 block of 6th Avenue and took Caldwell into custody without incident.
Caldwell has been charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary (First Degree) – Four Counts
- Attempted Burglary (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
- Possession of Burglary Tools
- Theft Over $1,500
- Theft Under $1,500 – Six Counts
- Attempted Theft Over $1,500
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle
- Resisting Arrest
