Flood Advisory until 11:15PM Wednesday

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of North Mississippi, including the following counties, Lafayette, Panola, Tallahatchie and Yalobusha.

* WHEN...Until 1115 PM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 813 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Oxford, Water Valley, Charleston, George Payne State Park, Holly Springs National Forest, Coffeeville, Pope, Velma, Springdale, Burgess, Enid, Scobey, Harmontown, Paynes, Cambridge, Oakland, Courtland, Abbeville, Taylor and Shuford. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
