Armed Subject-Shots Fired

On 2/8/23 at 11:00pm officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 200 block of W Milwaukee St. Two females later identified as Olivia F Abarca and Jamie B Payton were in an argument with a bartender which turned into a physical disturbance. Both Abarca and Payton were escorted out by staff.
 
An off-duty officer that was on her way home heard shots being fired as she drove by the 200 block of W Milwaukee St. Abarca and Payton ran through a parking lot and went into an apartment in the 300 block of Dodge St. Multiple casing were located in the parking lot.
 
Both Payton and Abarca were taken into custody and a warrant was drafted for the residence they entered. During the search of the residence a firearm was recovered. THC and paraphernalia were located in the general area that 2 children had access to.
 
Abarca was arrested on the below statement charge and released upon being processed at the police department. Payton was held at the Rock County Jail on the below stated charges.
