When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.

Robberies

There was one robbery and one attempted robbery during the past week.

On Sunday, 02-05-23, at approximately 2:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Saint Francis Boulevard and Clarinada Avenue on a report of an armed robbery. The victim had parked his vehicle, exited, and began to walk towards the eastern sidewalk of Saint Francis Boulevard when he observed a white Honda Accord pull up. As the victim was walking, a suspect described as a Hispanic male in his 20s wearing a black beanie, black jacket, black pants, and having two gold teeth went towards the victim from between parked cars. The suspect lifted his shirt, which revealed a black handgun tucked in his waistband, and said to the victim, “Hey dude, give me what you have.” The victim being in fear, gave the suspect his $4,800 gold necklace, $2,700 gold bracelet, and $400 cash. The suspect then demanded for the victim’s wedding ring. The victim pleaded with the suspect to let him keep the ring. Due to this, the suspect struck the victim on the forehead. The victim subsequently gave his $1,200 wedding ring to the suspect. After taking the jewelry and cash, the suspect ran towards the Honda Accord, entered the passenger seat, and fled northbound on Saint Francis Boulevard. This investigation is continuing.

On Tuesday, 02-01-23, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a victim parked his rental vehicle on Pierce Street and Sullivan Avenue. As the victim opened his car door to enter the gas station, four suspects, all wearing black clothing, ski masks, and face masks, ran up to him and demanded for his wallet and phone. The victim refused to give up his belongings; therefore, the suspects hit him three to four times. The suspects proceeded to take the victim out of the vehicle forcefully. The suspects kicked the victim and again demanded for his wallet and phone. The suspects tried to reach into the victim’s pockets, but the victim placed his hands into his pockets to prevent the suspects from taking his wallet and phone. During this struggle, two vehicles turned onto Pierce Street, which may have scared the suspects away. This investigation is continuing.

Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
