Wilmington Police arrest two juveniles in connection with firearm theft incident:

Wilmington Police have arrested two juveniles in connection with the theft of a firearm.
 
On January 3 at approximately 2:45 a.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of Towne Estates Drive in reference to a theft of a firearm.
 
The case was assigned to Detective Brendan Shea of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Shea identified a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old male as suspects and both were taken into custody without incident.
 
The 17-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Theft of a Firearm
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)
  • Theft Under $1,500
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $9,000 cash-only bail.
 
The 16-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses:
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Theft of a Firearm
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)
  • Theft Under $1,500
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $13,200 cash-only bail.
