Suspect Identified in a January Burglary and Taken into Custody
DATE/TIME: January 2, 2023 / 1:46 a.m.
INCIDENT: Commercial Burglary
LOCATION: 2500 Block of Chino Hills Parkway, Chino Hills
SUSPECT(S): David Yaqub, 46-year-old Resident of Chino
VICTIM(S): Small Business Owner
SUMMARY: On January 2, 2023, at 1:46 a.m., the Rainbow Kids Hairstyling business located in Chino Hills was burglarized. Video surveillance at and near the incident location captured a male subject commit the burglary. During the burglary, the suspect stole a gumball machine, 55" television, four Amazon Fire tablets, HP desktop computer, and $100 in United States currency.
Chino Hills Station detectives identified the vehicle associated in the burglary and identified the registered owner as a female resident of Chino. Detectives identified David Yaqub as a male adult living with the registered vehicle owner.
Yaqub was found to be on active probation out of San Bernardino County. Detectives and San Bernardino County Probation officers conducted a joint investigation and contacted Yaqub at his residence on Febraury, 9, 2023. Detectives conducted a search of Yaqub's residence and located several items stolen from the incident location.
Detectives determined the registered vehicle owner was not involved in the burglary and was unaware Yaqub was using her vehicle to commit crimal acts.
Yaqub was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center, in Rancho Cucamonga.
