INCIDENT: VC 2800.2: FAILURE TO YIELD (FELONY)
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road/ Mesquite Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Henry Noel Flores Alfaro, 28-years-old, resident of Mexico
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, February 9, 2023, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a request for assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agents. Agents believed a silver Dodge Ram truck which fled from them during a criminal investigation was possibly entering the Victor Valley area.
Deputy D. McCarter located the vehicle on Bear Valley Road, near Mesquite Road, in the county area of Apple Valley. Additional deputies responded to assist with an enforcement stop. The driver, later identified as Henry Noel Flores Alfaro, failed to stop and fled from deputies. Alfaro led deputies on an approximate 25-mile pursuit through Apple Valley and Victorville. Alfaro drove at speeds in excess of 120 mph, travelled into oncoming lanes, failed to stop at controlled intersections, and passed vehicles using the center divider.
During the pursuit, Alfaro’s vehicle collided with an uninvolved vehicle on D Street in Victorville, however, Alfaro refused to stop. The occupants of the uninvolved vehicle were not injured. Eventually, Alfaro’s vehicle high centered in the median on Kiowa Road in Apple Valley. Alfaro was taken into custody without further incident. The pursuit lasted approximately 19 minutes.
Agents from U.S. Customs and Border Protection will conduct a separate investigation related to their case.
