Week of February 6 - February 10, 2023*

• Earle Asphalt Co. completed pavers installation on the east side of Witherspoon Street and began concrete sidewalk removal, curb and paver installation on the west side of Witherspoon Street between Nassau Street and Spring Street. This work will continue for the week ahead.
• Earle Asphalt Co. will continue concrete sidewalk removal, curb and sidewalk installation on the east side of Witherspoon Street between Paul Robeson Place/Wiggins Street and Spring Street.
• The sidewalk on the east side has opened up to pedestrians. Snow fence nearest the frontage of the businesses will remain in place until the paver installation is completed. Pedestrians will be rerouted to the nearest crosswalk or the opposite side while areas are blocked off during construction. Wooden planks will be available near business entrances to provide access for employees, patrons and deliveries.
• A NEW temporary loading zone has been striped on Hulfish Street between Witherspoon Street and Palmer Square East opposite Griggs Parking Lot. Business delivery trucks may continue to utilize designated loading zones and crosswalks. Stopping in the travel lane or blocking intersections to load or unload is prohibited.
• The loading zone along the curb at Hinds Plaza and the public library has been removed.
• Other available loading zones are on Nassau Street, Spring Street, and Hulfish Street.

• Please be advised that Witherspoon Street is now a one-way street northbound. Upon completion, Witherspoon Street will reopen to traffic traveling northbound. The left (west) side of the white paver line is a 10-foot designated service lane. The right (east) side of the white paver line lane is the 10-foot travel lane. Stopping, Standing or Loading is not permitted in the active travel lane.
• At times, Witherspoon Street between Nassau Street and Spring Street, may experience a lane shift or temporary road closure to deliver material and equipment to the work area. Detour signage will be in place during those occurrences.
• Metered parking spaces on Witherspoon Street between Hulfish Street and Paul Robeson Place/Wiggins Street are blocked during construction hours to allow for two lanes of traffic. Parking will be restored there on weekends. Metered parking spaces on Hulfish Street between Witherspoon Street and Palmer Square East will remain bagged until construction completion.
• Trash and Recycling collection for businesses on both the west and east side will take place in the designated area on Witherspoon just past the Spring Street Crosswalk. Do Not Block Traffic Signs with The Bins. 
• Trash and Recycling collection for businesses near Nassau Street have made arrangements for collection on Nassau Street. Businesses whose collection is in Tulane Yard should be collected as normal.
