In May 2022, NARCAN, a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose, was approved for field use by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Through a collaborative effort with the California Department of Public Health's Naloxone Grant Program, the Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) and the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, NARCAN was implemented for field use in late 2022 following an extensive training period. NARCAN is yet another tool used by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department to assist the residents of our County.
