INCIDENT: Three-Vehicle-Major Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Apple Valley Road / Symeron Road, Apple Valley, CA
SUMMARY: On Sunday, February 12, 2023, at approximately 5:27 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department responded to a three-vehicle traffic collision. The collision occurred on Apple Valley Road, at the intersection with Symeron Road.
Deputies determined two motorcycles, a 2005 Honda and a 2005 Yamaha, were southbound on Apple Valley Road, approaching Symeron Road. A 2015 Ford F-150 was eastbound on Symeron Road, preparing to turn north onto Apple Valley Road. Both motorcycles crashed into the driver side of the Ford F-150. The driver of the 2005 Yamaha was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered major injuries. The driver and passenger of the 2005 Honda were both ejected from their motorcycle and suffered major injuries. The driver of the Ford F-150 suffered unknown injuries.
The cause of the traffic collision is currently unknown and is being investigated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) All lanes of Apple Valley Road, between Yaqui Road and Mondamon Road, were closed for about 4 hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence.
