INCIDENT: Attempted Murder
LOCATION: Intersection of Palmdale Road and Cobalt Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Eloy Ortiz, 22-Year-Old Resident of Adelanto
Gabriel Ortiz, 20-Year-Old Resident of Adelanto
VICTIM(S): 22-Year-Old Male Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Thursday, February 9, 2023, at approximately 12:53 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the area of Palmdale Road and Cobalt Road. Deputies Cassidy and Mendoza located the victim with multiple gunshot wounds and rendered medical aid.
Deputies determined the gunshot victim was the passenger in a red Ford Explorer. The suspects, Eloy Ortiz, and Gabriel Ortiz, drove behind the victim in a black Lexus and fired multiple rounds through the vehicle, striking the victim multiple times. The victim was airlifted to a trauma center where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive his injuries. Deputies served a search warrant at the Ortiz’ residence in Adelanto, where both suspects were arrested for attempted murder.
