NEW TRAFFIC SIGNAL OPERATIONS
Neighbors,
The City of Sachse is thrilled to announce that the traffic signals at Ingram/Dewitt, Ranch/Dewitt, and at Woodbridge/Cody will be turned on this week. This project has been plagued with supply chain issues and has taken much, much longer than anticipated.
Here’s the scoop: When new signals are activated, they have to go through a required flashing phase. This is important because it signals (pun intended here) to drivers that there is going to be a change in the flow of traffic due to the newly installed traffic signals coming online. Because we have a lot of drivers, especially newer drivers coming and going from schools in that corridor, it is standard procedure to set the flashing lights on for several days to help increase awareness of the signals.
Here’s what’s next: The signals will be in “flashing mode” from Thursday, February 16 until Tuesday, February 21 morning. After morning rush hour on February 21, the signals will be turned on and fully operational to avoid disrupting school traffic and commuters.
Plan for flashing mode:
- Ingram/Dewitt: All-way red flash/stop
- Ranch/Dewitt: All-way red flash/stop
- Woodbridge/Cody: Cody and Enterprise Rental Car will have a red flash/stop and Woodbridge Parkway will have a yellow flash/caution
