NARRATIVE:
On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 5:56 p.m., Palmdale Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a retail parking lot located on the 39000 block of 10th Street West, Palmdale regarding a Grand Theft in progress/person down call for service. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies saw a 4x4 Ford Excursion partially backed out of one of the parking stalls, and another smaller vehicle in the parking stall next to it. Deputies saw a Male Hispanic lying on the ground, later identified as a Grand Theft suspect, who was run over by the victim.
The victim was asleep inside of the 4x4 Ford Excursion when the smaller vehicle pulled up next to it with 4 suspects inside (2 Male Hispanics, and 2 Female Hispanics). One of the male suspect’s exited the smaller vehicle and began sawing off the catalytic converter of the 4x4 Ford Excursion. The victim woke up from the sound, turned the car on, put the vehicle in reverse, and felt a bump like she ran something over. She stopped immediately, leaving the suspect on the ground after running him over. The Grand Theft victim called 9-1-1 for medical assistance for the suspect.
Deputies arrived on scene and detained the 3 remaining suspects. The first suspect was transported via ambulance to Antelope Valley Hospital, and pronounced deceased.
