The Wilmington Police Department’s Cold Case Unit is asking for the assistance of the public in connection to the 2018 murder of Dion Brooks.
 
On September 6, 2018 at approximately 5:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 500 block of Vandever Avenue in reference to a death investigation. Officers located 38-year-old Dion Brooks, who had been shot and succumbed to his injuries.
 
This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators are asking the public for assistance.

The Wilmington Police Department’s Cold Case Unit is part of the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. The Unit typically handles cases that have remained unsolved after a year, and after all investigative leads have been exhausted by the primary investigator. Members of the Cold Case Unit work tirelessly to pursue new leads in these cases, and to deliver justice to the families of those who have been affected by crime.
