Narrative:
 
A fifteen year old juvenile from Thousand Oaks was arrested after detectives connected him to graffiti vandalism that occurred throughout the City of Thousand Oaks. 
 
There was an increase in graffiti vandalism throughout the City of Thousand Oaks dating back to December of 2022.  The vandalism, which occurred on city walls, walls of private apartment buildings as well as walls, tables and benches in city parks, resulted in over $2,000.00 in property damage.
 
Detectives collected intelligence and were able to identify the juvenile suspect involved.  During a probation search of the suspect’s home, additional evidence linking the suspect to the graffiti vandalism was located.  The juvenile was lodged at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of 594(b)(1) PC and 186.22 PC, Graffiti Vandalism for the Benefit of a Street Gang.
 
The Thousand Oaks Police Department encourages citizens to immediately report suspicious people and vehicles, and promptly report any graffiti by calling (805) 654-9511. Once the police have investigated, all graffiti should be immediately removed.

If you see graffiti, please report it immediately to our graffiti removal hotline (805) 449-2488 or send an email to the City at [email protected]. Please provide the following information:  Address or street name and cross street of the incident. A detailed description will help crews locate the graffiti quickly.  Structure type or object the graffiti is on. Your name and phone number in case crews are unable to locate the graffiti.  The City will also remove graffiti from private property that is visible from the City's public right away, free of charge upon request.
