Flood Warning until 07:30PM Thursday

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central West Virginia and southern West Virginia, including the following counties, in central West Virginia, Braxton, Clay, Nicholas and Webster. In southern West Virginia, Boone, Fayette, Kanawha, Logan, Mingo, Raleigh and Wyoming.

* WHEN...Until 730 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 126 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated continued moderate rain across the warned area. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible through the remainder of the afternoon. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Summersville, Williamson, Madison, Logan, Clay, Mount Hope, Chapmanville, East Bank, Smithers, Pratt, and Camden-On- gauley. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
