INCIDENT: PC 245 (A)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Lethal Force Encounter (LFE)
LOCATION: 21800 Block of W. Grand Terrace Road, Grand Terrace
SUSPECT(S): Misty Rose West, 33-year-old Resident of Grand Terrace
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 10:23 a.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station responded to a residence in the 21800 block of W. Grand Terrace Road for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. The caller reported she was struck in the head with a bat by her roommate, Misty Rose West.
When the first deputy arrived, he entered the home and found the victim with a headwound. The deputy immediately requested medical aid and during a search of the home, encountered West, armed with a handgun. West ignored several commands to drop the weapon, and a lethal force encounter occurred. West was struck by gunfire and transported to the hospital.
The victim was also transported to the hospital and both are expected to survive. The deputy was not injured.
Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division also responded and assumed the investigation.
