INCIDENT: Burglary and Possesion of Stolen Property
LOCATION: 18000 Block of Valencia Street, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Edward Thornton, 50-year-old Resident of Helendale
VICTIM(S): Adult Male
SUMMARY:
On December 23, 2022, deputies from the Hesperia Station responded to a reported residential burglary in the 18000 block of Valencia Street. Upon arrival, it was determined multiple items were taken from the residence.
Through evidence at the scene and witness information, detectives identified the suspect.
On February 2, 2023, Hesperia's Detective Bureau served two search warrants in reference to the burglary, one at a residence in Helendale and the second at a residence in Hesperia. During the service of the search warrants, the victim’s stolen property was located at both locations along with identification cards belonging to multiple individuals.
The suspect, identified as Edward Thornton, was located, subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for PC459 – Burglary and PC 496(A)- Possession of Stolen Property.
