Flash Flood Warning until 12:00AM Friday

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Cullman County in north central Alabama... Southeastern Morgan County in north central Alabama... Marshall County in northeastern Alabama...

* Until midnight CST.

* At 905 PM CST, emergency management reported Mile Marker 308 on Interstate 65 was closed due to flooding from both north and southbound directions. Also, many roads were flooded across much of central and eastern Cullman county. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible over the next two to three hours. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Cullman, Guntersville, Arab, Hanceville, Good Hope, Grant, Holly Pond, Dodge City, Baldwin, Vinemont, Baileyton, Eva, Garden City, Colony, Union Grove, Hulaco, Joppa, Walter, Ryan Crossroads and Eddy.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CULLMAN, AL ... MARSHALL, AL ... MORGAN, AL

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
