Winter Storm Watch until 12:00PM Thursday

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations of 9 to 16 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Minnesota and east central and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. The cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero Thursday could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... The greatest risk for blizzard conditions will occur early Wednesday into early Thursday.
