Winter Storm Warning until 05:00AM Thursday

* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 20 inches with locally higher amounts over 2 feet possible. Winds will gust 55 to 65 mph at times.

* WHERE...Uncompahgre Plateau and Dallas Divide, Northwest San Juan Mountains and Southwest San Juan Mountains.

* WHEN...From 5 PM Tuesday to 5 AM MST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult if not impossible. Snow and blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility at times. A detailed map of the snowfall can be found at: www.weather.gov/gjt/winter.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Near whiteout conditions are likely at times due to snow and blowing snow. Thunderstorms are also possible Wednesday afternoon which could create stronger wind gusts along with snow rates in excess of 2 inches per hour.
