Blizzard Warning until 12:00PM Thursday

* WHAT...For the Blizzard Warning, blizzard conditions expected. For the Winter Weather Advisory, mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Minnesota and south central and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...For the Blizzard Warning, from noon Wednesday to noon CST Thursday. For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 6 PM this evening to noon CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. The cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of snow are expected through Tuesday into Wednesday morning with increasing winds. While areas of blowing snow are possible prior to midday Wednesday, the better potential for more widespread blizzard conditions is expected later Wednesday into Wednesday night.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ROCK ... AURORA ... DAVISON ... HANSON ... MCCOOK ... MINNEHAHA ... DOUGLAS ... HUTCHINSON ... TURNER ... LINCOLN
