Winter Storm Warning until 06:00PM Thursday

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. There will be two rounds of snow tonight into Wednesday morning and Wednesday afternoon through Thursday. A narrow band of 5 to 8 inches of snow is expected with the first round and another 8 to 12 inches with the second round. Total snow accumulations for some locations may exceed 18 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Wabasha County. In Wisconsin, Buffalo and Trempealeau Counties.

* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 6 PM CST Thursday. There may be a short break in the snow mid to late Wednesday morning before the snow intensifies again in the afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WABASHA ... BUFFALO ... TREMPEALEAU
