Snow Emergency Declared. City facilities closing to the public at 3:00p.m. today.
The City of Springfield has declared a Snow Emergency beginning at 3:00p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023:
- The Springfield Library, City Hall, and Community Center will be closed at 3pm today.
- The following public meetings have been postponed and will meet at the Springfield Area Community Center (33 South Cass Avenue):
- Public Utilities Commission – Rescheduled to Friday, February 24th at 8:30a.m.
- Community Facilities Board – Rescheduled to Monday, February 27th at 4:00p.m.
- City Council – Rescheduled to Tuesday, February 28th at 5:30p.m.
- Snow Removal Operations:
- Emergency Snow Routes will be maintained as able with emergency vehicles escorted by plows as needed to access other areas.
- Downtown and residential streets are expected to begin between 4:00a.m. and 6:00a.m. tomorrow.
- Weather conditions will be re-evaluated daily and there will be an update tomorrow morning around 7:30a.m.
- Please refrain from parking near snow windrows and drive with extreme caution.
