* WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. For the Blizzard Warning, blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 9 to 16 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of southwest Minnesota and south central and southeast South Dakota.
* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 6 AM CST Wednesday. For the Blizzard Warning, from 6 AM Wednesday to noon CST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. The cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of snow are expected through Wednesday morning with increasing winds. During lulls in snowfall tonight and early Wednesday, some patchy freezing drizzle is possible.
