ARREST MADE IN MURDER OF WELLSTON WOMAN FOUND AT LAKE THUNDERBIRD 
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NORMAN, Oklahoma (February 22, 2023) – Special Agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) arrest a Norman man in connection with the murder of Charissia Dawn Bell of Wellston. Bell’s remains were discovered at Lake Thunderbird on Monday, February 13, 2023.
Austin Godwin (1/27/1993), of Norman, was arrested on February 21, 2023 just before midnight. He is facing charges of First Degree Murder and Unlawful Disposal of a Body. Godwin is currently in the Cleveland County Detention Center.
The OSBI was assisted by the Norman Police Department, Oklahoma Park Rangers and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
