*WHAT...Heavy snow and strong winds are resulting in very dangerous avalanche conditions and a HIGH (Level 4 of 5) avalanche danger
*WHERE...San Juan Mountains including areas south of Red Mountain Pass, the La Plata Mountains, and areas around Wolf Creek Pass, including the South San Juan Wilderness
*WHEN...Through Thursday 5 PM
*IMPACTS...Large and dangerous avalanches will be very easy to trigger in many places. Avalanches will run naturally.
*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel in backcountry avalanche terrain is not recommended on Wednesday. Avoid travel on and under slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. You can find more detailed information at colorado.gov/avalanche
