INCIDENT: Minor Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: 19000 block of Rock Springs Road, Hesperia
SUMMARY: On Thursday, February 23, 2023, at approximately 8:11 a.m., deputies with the Hesperia Police Department responded to an unknown injury traffic collision, that was later determined to be a minor injury traffic collision, which occurred in the 19000 block of Rock Springs Road, in the city of Hesperia. Upon arrival, deputies determined a black Chevrolet Traverse, a Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) bus and a Silver Subaru were involved in a traffic collision.
During the investigation, it was discovered the Chevrolet was westbound on Rock Springs Road and for unknown reasons veered into the eastbound number one lane, where the VVTA bus was located. The Chevrolet sideswiped the bus causing the bus to collide into multiple chain link fences and trees, in the yards of nearby residences. The Chevrolet came to rest in the yard of a nearby residence. The Subaru sustained damage from debris resulting from the collision.
The VVTA bus did not have any passengers at the time of the collision, the Chevrolet was a single occupant and the Subaru had three occupants. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to a local hospital due to complaint of pain. The other parties involved in the collision did not report any injuries.
