The Gloucester Township Police mourns the loss of Retired Chief Seth Stichler, Badge #3, who passed on February 22, 2023. He was 96 years old.
Chief Stichler was a World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Navy. He was hired as a Gloucester Township Police Officer on July 5, 1960. He was promoted to Chief of Police on October 1, 1975 and retired from active duty on February 1, 1989.
Gloucester Township Police was honored to celebrate Chief Stichler's 95th birthday with him at his home in Williamstown, NJ in April, 2021, where he received a GTPD emergency vehicle drive by. Shortly after the drive by, Chief Dave Harkins along with Retired Chiefs Andy Fox, Ed Smith, Harry Earle, Retired Captain Bill Schriver, and GTPD Staff presented Chief Stichler with a GTPD jacket, hat, face mask, coffee cups, and challenge coins.
