SEVERE WEATHER WARNING - HAZARDOUS TRAFFIC CONDITIONS/CLOSURES IN EFFECT 
The National Weather Service issued a Severe Weather Warning for Kern County until Saturday, February 26. A weather warning indicates a confirmed, current and present danger to this area.
Highway 58 is CLOSED in both directions from Mojave to Bakersfield.
California City Blv and South California City Blve are both affected by accumulating snow and icy conditions.
Highway 14 from Mojave to Lancaster is currently under CHP escort only and may be closed later this morning.
Take necessary safety precautions; slow down, use your regular headlights and leave extra room between you and other vehicles. If you don't need to be on the roads, you are strongly encouraged to stay home.
