Blizzard Warning until 04:00PM Wednesday

* WHAT...WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 20 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. For the Blizzard Warning, blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 feet. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph.

* WHERE...The Sierra Nevada.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, from 4 PM this afternoon to 10 AM PST Monday. For the Blizzard Warning, from 10 AM Monday to 4 PM PST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing snow will cause white-out conditions at times. Downed trees and tree limbs with power outages are possible due to heavy snow and gusty winds. The cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels 3000 to 4000 feet Sunday falling to 2000 to 3000 feet Monday. Periods of heavy snow Sunday afternoon and night with snow showers lingering into Monday morning. Heavy snow is expected Monday afternoon through Wednesday.

* AFFECTED AREAS: YOSEMITE NP OUTSIDE OF THE VALLEY ... YOSEMITE VALLEY ... SAN JOAQUIN RIVER CANYON ... UPPER SAN JOAQUIN RIVER ... KAISER TO RODGERS RIDGE ... KINGS CANYON NP ... GRANT GROVE AREA ... SEQUOIA NP ... SOUTH END OF THE UPPER SIERRA
