City of Lakeport Storm Update & Hotline for Homebound Lake County Residents – February 26, 2023
Uncertain winter weather conditions will continue to persist over the next 48-72 hours. Possible snow down to lake elevation this eveningand through Tuesday. Nighttime temperatures will remain at or below freezing leading to the possibility of icy road conditions. Continue to use extreme caution while driving on local roads. Watch for utilities crews and first responders who are working to address storm related issues.
According to PG&E there are still storm related outage incidents impacting many Lakeport customers. Additional power outages are possible over the next few days as the weather continues in our area. Customers can get outage information at pge.com/outagesor at 1-800-743-5002. Do not approach downed power lines and immediately report them to 911 and PG&E at the above number.
Per the County of Lake, the warming center at 1111 Whalen Way in north Lakeport has expanded its operations to 24/7during this weather incident. Call the warming center for more information at 707-349-5022.
County leaders and officials are aware the ongoing severe cold weather event may present additional challenges to homebound residents, particularly those with intensive medical needs and/or a lack of transportation.
The Countynof Lake has advised that a hotline has been made available for homebound individuals. If you or someone you know is homebound and unable to access critical services, please call 707-262-4431 for information on available resources, and emergency needs.
We have also been notified that due to the weather activity and school power outages, all Lake County public schools will be closed Monday, February 27, 2023.
