911 call leads to arrest of Vincennes man on battery charge.

On February 26, 2023, at 7:01 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a battery that was occurring at the Diplomat Motel located at 1733 S State Road 57 near Oakland City, Indiana.  The caller stated that the suspect had a knife and was outside of the motel room attempting to reenter the room.  Multiple officers from different law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the scene.  Oakland City Officer Jeff Hill arrived on scene and observed a White male with a knife at the caller’s door and placed the individual into custody.  At that point Deputy Zach Lienemann arrived on scene and an investigation was conducted into the battery.  At the conclusion of his investigation the White male who was identified as 27-year-old Joshua Almy of Vincennes was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Battery.  He remains in custody on a $650 bond. 
 
Assisting Deputy Lienemann in his investigation was Sergeant John Fischer, Oakland City Officer Jeff Hill, Indiana Conservation Officer Matt Clark, and Indiana State Trooper Tanner Hurley. 
 
 
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
