Winter Advisory: Snow developing 6:30 - 8:30 PM. 4" - 7" of Snow/Sleet Wind turns E 10 - 15 mph, gusts 20-25 mph
Mostly sunny skies will give way to increasing clouds over the next few hours as our system approaches. Areas of snow and perhaps a few pockets of sleet will move in between 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Any sleet will quickly give way to snow, which will quickly become moderate to heavy at times as rates likely exceed 1"/hr. Steady snow will then continue through the overnight before gradually easing up into the predawn. While we are coming off a somewhat mild day, falling temperatures, consistent rates, and even a little sleet will allow all surfaces to cover tonight. Light snow and perhaps some raindrops will continue after sunrise tomorrow, but the main accumulation threat will have come to an end by this time as rates decrease substantially. We'll then have to keep an eye on the potential for slick spots to develop tomorrow evening as light winds and cold overnight lows will allow for any wet or slushy areas to turn icy. Dry and mild weather returns Wednesday. Total accumulation predicted is 4-7 inches of snow/sleet.
Be prepared & plan ahead! Remain off the roadways as much as possible. Monitor weather forecasts and plan your commute accordingly. Expect a longer commute if that is your choice. Please be patient, considerate and conscious of their efforts to plow and treat the roadways for all of our safety. Do not plow or deposit snow on the public roadways.
