On February 18, 2023, at approximately 6:10 pm, Patrol Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 100 block of E. Holt Ave. When Officers arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died.
Investigators from the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began an extensive investigation. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Luis Carlos Guerrero of Pomona.
On February 22, 2023, at approximately 2:45 am, Patrol Officers located Guerrero during a traffic stop and took him into custody. Guerrero was taken to Pomona City Jail and booked for 187 PC- Homicide.
